What are the qualities which give a leader the ability to "lead?" Just barking orders sometimes can lead, when for example you have soldiers facing court martial for not following those orders. The troops may follow the orders, but they won't be motivated to do so. In the business world we aren't given that option for motivation. I guess firing someone if they don't do as told is almost the same, but the point is that there are ways to make your troops follow without using a threat. One such way is to lead by example.

In spite of tremendous odds against him, he shows courage and makes the first step to show that what he wants to achieve is possible. Bravery is one of the qualities that people will follow.
So when the going gets tough, sometimes we need a good leader. Find those who can lead by example and make them the leaders in your organization.
